This costume was a bit random. A couple of months before YetiCon 2024, a few of my friends were chatting about doing an Eeevee Evolutions Cosplay group for a nighttime glow parade that's held the night before the con begins. They were specifically looking to purchase bodysuit costumes that were being sold through Miccostumes, so the group would have a theme for the look of the costumes. Pretty quickly all the Evolutions were taken, but as an outsider of the group, I kind of thought it might be fun to participate, but as a different Pokemon character.

I looked through Miccostumes and found they had a Mimikyu bodysuit that was the same style as the Eevee Evolutions. Mimikyu as a ghost Pokemon, fits my style and is one of my favourite Pokemon. It didn't hurt that it was also on sale, so it was pretty affordable for a full costume. I decided to buy it in March of 2024 and I got it in May, a few weeks before the convention. I had swap out the button that's used to anchor the tail to the bodysuit as it wasn't very strong and it fell off immediately after trying to wear the costume for the first time. I had hoped to use some snaps to give the tail a bit more support, but the material of the bodysuit (a fleece) was just too thin to give the tail (even with it including wire) enough support to stand up a bit. I used the button to attach the tail and then I looped the tail through the included belt so it has a bit more support and didn't totally flop down. It worked well enough. The group had all purchased tulle skirts with lights strung through them to make a statement at the glow parade, so I found a black skirt on Aliexpress and it did give the costume a glow.

The costume (besides the floppy tail) is quite cute and fits pretty well with some leeway for sizing. It included a choker and a belt for nice accessories. I do wish the hood had Mimikyu eyes sewn on for a bit more personality, but it does look nice overall. I paired the outfit with black tights and some short black boots and I like how the outfit came together. I did wear it to the glow walk the night before YetiCon 2024 and surprised the Eeevee group. The costume is comfy and warm so I wore it again while handing out candy on Halloween. I don't really have many photos of the costume besides a few photos my friend Pan took of me on Halloween 2024. Hopefully I'll be able to get some photos of the costume in 2025 either at a con or around the fall. As a quick to wear costume, it's easy to grab and it's a neat design, so I'm glad I purchased it. You can dress it up with a wig or extra accessories or just wear it as is and have a comfy look. I like the fun bodysuit outfits and I may buy more in the future if they have other fun character designs that speak to me.
