The purchase of this Lolita outfit was very spur of the moment. I was at a board game gathering at my friend Kevin's place a few weeks before YetiCon (just before Anime North) when Kevin told me that another friend had ordered a bunch of clothes from Aliexpress to be shipped to his place. One of the Lolita pieces was Halloween themed. He showed me the dress and I thought the print was super adorable. It wasn't very expensive, so I decided to order it for myself. The outfit included a long sleeve white shirt with bunny ears built into the back of the collar and a one-piece dress that had a halterneck. The dress is purple with an absolutely adorable dessert/Halloween theme print that includes bears, pumpkins, spooky trees and cakes decorating the skirt. It also has a bat collar and black lace at the hem. It's super cute!
My only major complaint is the fit. It's a one size only piece, which does have stretch, but the bodice is very narrow. As someone who is a bit bigger in the chest, it's really not wide enough to give great coverage. You wear a shirt under it, but it would look a lot nicer if there was more material to give better chest coverage. I also wish it came with a headpiece or bow, but it is nice for the price.
I ended up bringing it to YetiCon 2025 to wear on Friday before the con officially began. I wore it for badge pickup and during the annual Glow Walk that Stillvisions (Kevin) organizes. I paired the dress with a cute Lil Boo light up necklace that I bought online that was from Universal Halloween Horror Nights, so I would actually glow a bit during Glow Walk. My friend Mitch, who was the one that had bought the dress originally and was another roommate of mine at YetiCon, helped me embellish the costume by lending me cat ears, a hat, some jewellery, shoes and gloves to complete the look. She also lent me a parasol. I wore thick tights because I knew I would be wearing the costume late at night with black Lolita socks that I had purchased from a Lolita brand while in Japan in 2008. I also decided to wear my old Kagome wig with the outfit as I figured the wavy curls would make for a nice look.
The outfit was incredibly cute and fun to wear. I walked around with Mitch, who was also wearing Lolita attire, and explored the village area before the Glow Walk on June 13th. I really enjoyed wearing this outfit. I love the Halloween theme. I do wish the outfit had sizing options, but for what it is, it was really nice to wear and still looked great.
In September 2025 I decided to buy the matching cloak for the costume. I figured that if I wanted to wear it to fall events when the weather would get colder, a cloak would be nice. I ordered it from the same seller on Aliexpress and it did look cute and kept me warm when worn outside. Not much ties it to the print of the dress, but the cat ears on the cloak does have the Halloween print inside as the lining. I also bought a witch hat with purple ribbon from another Aliexpress seller to match with the dress, as I figured it would be a cute good witch costume. It looked very elegant. I wore the outfit to two Halloween events on October 18th. I went to Halloween Night of Lights at Sherway Gardens and then 13 Rooms at Cloverdale. Both were events meant for taking fall photos, but one was more on the fun side and the other was more hardcore horror. I got photos at both locations and brought a broom to 13 Rooms. I went with Stillvisions who took some photos of me amongst the decorations. It was a lot of fun wearing this outfit and I got a lot of compliments while wearing it. I might find myself inspired to buy more of these kinds of outfits, as it's nice and warm and pretty comfy to wear.
